For fans of the euro-crime genre this is a rare one that ticks all the boxes of a true Italian crime film, drugs, gangs, girls, and guns. Unfortunately the film never gained the recognition it deserved and almost appeared to be intentionally shunned.

There are two things that go hand in hand with film; art & music. Music compliments a film, gives life to the story, you could even make the case that without music film would be non-existent as the two have always been essentially paired together. But art (and when I refer to art I'm speaking of poster/advertising art), has the tremendous responsibility of attempting to grab Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603054002784395449.post-72091240063969691412015-02-02T08:00:00.000-08:002018-06-24T13:43:19.643-07:00Siamo uomini o caporali - Are We Men or Corporals? Magda Konopka, born 1943 in Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland. Oddly enough there is very little information to be found about Magda. With the exception of a handful of publicity photos and a few hearsay "facts" she's a relative enigma. I've learned there is something I can't stand more than musicals, Shirley MacLaine. Combine the two together and it's a recipe for boredom. It's either a horrible coincidence or somebody was really fond of Barbara Bouchet to cast her in three MacLaine "comedies". Unfortunately a spoonful of the lovely Bouchet can't help you stomach this large a serving of Shirley MacLaine.

With a lot of things on my plate I decided it's probably best not to put more on it than I can handle, so for the time being we'll be focusing on the Barbara Bouchet series and maybe a few other things, instead of branching out the Answer's Angel section as I previously was interested in doing. The 1960's were they heyday for westerns on television, you had Bonanza, Rawhide, The Wild Wild West, Gunsmoke (which I could never stomach), The Rifleman, and probably a slew of countless others that ran throughout the 1960's. One of those countless others is a show I'd never heard of that ran a pretty amazing nine seasons, The Virginian. Continuing our long running series dedicated to the very lovely Barbara Bouchet, the next few entries in this series will focus on her American television appearances. Bond is back and better than... er... well... better than On Her Majesty's Secret Service, or Octopussy, but definitely not better than ever, in fact while I can't say Skyfall is the worst Bond film ever, it's easily one of the most disappointing considering how the Daniel Craig reboot has been going fairly well so far. For some odd reason I had high hopes for The Man with the Iron Fists, must have been my excitement at the break of Russell Crowe's two year film hiatus, as the stellar The Last Three Days way back in 2010 was the last film we saw him in. Also I've had a soft spot for some of Crowe's more "out of the box" roles, with films like The Quick and the Dead and A Good Year, atypical Crowe films Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603054002784395449.post-86827774911364313452012-10-13T19:19:00.000-07:002018-06-30T19:33:53.943-07:00Hot Enough for June (1964)
As I've stated before (on numerous occasions) the success of the first couple of James Bond films in the early 1960's launched an entirely new genre in the in the film realm as low budget studios attempted to capitalize on the public's ever growing interest in the spy films. This gave birth to the Euro-spy genre, often simply referred to as the "James Bond knock-offs" which usually Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
