Jennifer Love Hewitt in a made for cable Oxygen channel film usually doesn't scream greatness, and to top it all off the title seems too similar to a recent Lindsey Lohan film, which I never saw, entitled Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Don't get me wrong I "love" Love, but its no big secret that she has never been a very successful film star. From television to a few descent big screen roles, and back to the small screen again her film career now seems to be limited to low budget cable films. It's not that she's a bad actress, it's the fact she hasn't chosen any good roles, but aside from that if looks could get you to watch a film then Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber is the film that will do it.

Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber, stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as Katya Livingston a advertising executive whose main goal in life is to reach high society and become one of the top socialites on the social ladder. So when she doesn't get invited to a fancy event, due to the fact that she slept with the hostesses husband on their wedding day, Katya begins to go insane trying to figure a way to get an invitation to the party. And her day only get worse when she learns everyone she knows is going.

While searching for a way to crash the party, Katya is searching for her perfect man, and she believes she meets him one day in an elevator, but each time she runs into him something embarrassing happens and causes her to run off. Her friend offers to set her up with her lawyer, but Katya despises the thought until she mentions he has an invitation to the party, so she decides she'll use the guy to get into the event. But soon thing start to happen that send her life crashing down upon her all because of her insane desire to attend the party and her need to be accepted. She soon begins to realize what a mess she has been living and how her life has been one big facade.

I have to say I enjoyed this film and it was more than Jennifer Love Hewitt being 100% hot from beginning to end. The film is short and sweet and turns Katya from being a really stuck up slut to into a rather kind person. The film also transforms into a romantic comedy with the relationship between Katya and her perfect guy, but for the most part it's about her insanity to become a socialite and how a social breakdown leads her to rethink her life.

Jennifer Love Hewitt played the role well, along side another well known "has been" Joey Lawrence who plays Katya's gay friend. I didn't buy Lawrence being gay, it appeared more like he was playing a guy who was pretending to be gay, but his character is comical at times. Overall, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber is a decent made of TV movie, even though its predictable, it's still worth a rent or a watch if you can catch it on TV.

7/10
