Name That Movie Poster 4.0 - Trial Round

This is a little game I created back in the heyday of Rotten Tomatoes, and did this for three years, everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Object of the game: Each round will contain a piece of six different movie posters, you must identity the movies by the piece. Posters range from current to as far back as I can go without it being impossible for anyone to figure out. Most posters are for films that received wide releases and all posters where released in the United States. Please note these are six different movie posters, not one, each piece is from a different poster.

Rules: All answers must be submitted in one post and within in the time period allotted, any additional submissions will not be counted, any submissions after the round is closed will not be counted. Only one answer per poster piece, if you submit more than one answer for a piece only the first answer will be accepted.

Point system: Points are based on the difficulty of the pieces, and how the general group does on each particular piece:
If 100% - 75% get the answer correct the piece is only worth 1/2 pt
If 74% - 26% get the answer correct the piece is worth 1 pt
If 25% - 1% get the answer correct the piece is worth 2 pts
If no one gets it correct an additional piece will be provided on the next round and it will only be worth 1/2 pt.
Example below:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few people indicated this was a little more difficult than I thought it would be, so the 1st round I'll make sure is easier. But you guys should now be able to see how this works.

  1. Turns out you explained the directions fine, I might have just read through it too quickly.

I don't have too much of a clue so I'm going to study up on movie posters and hopefully be more prepared for the subsequent entries.

Will these be horror based movies, or any type of film?

  2. No it's my bad I actually just changed some things (so what you just read is what I just edited) so you read it right the first time, I did have it as singular instead of plural.

They'll be any type of film, every once in a while a might do a theme based round. I try not to pull posters to movies that no one has heard of or seen, example some of the foreign horror films or B-Movies I review, you won't see anything like that, it wouldn't be fair to most people.

Feel free to try again, I've changed this to a trial run so nothing will actually count.

  4. I'll definitely have to check it out. Don't have much time this morning. I think this is a great idea. I'm not that great with things like this, but I'll give it a shot.

  5. Right here are my best guesses:

    1 - The Spirit
2 - The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
3 - This Is It (or 'Michael Jackson's This Is It')
    4 - Extract
    5 - Batman Forever
    6 - not a ruddy clue.

  6. Okay so the first round will be easier, I think I scared some people away. If this round had counted here's the points that the participants would have received.

Yum-Yum: (who by the way has won this in the past) 1.5 pts

    thistimeitwillbedifferent: 2.5 pts

  7. Cool - looking forward to the first proper one. You mind putting twitter alerts up for when results are released or when you do a new one etc. Not sure how much you use it but I find it makes following blogs extremely easy.
