Jennifer Love Hewitt has gone full spectrum in the entertainment business, starting out in television with her first appearance in Kids Incorporated, to the popular teen drama Party of Five. Love broke into the business and kept going, she eventually released a CD during her times in Kids Incorporated, and would go on to release three more Pop albums, while not very big hits it was still clear Love had a beautiful voice and wasn't only a pretty face but had some talent. With television and music under her belt Love broke into the movie business, becoming most well known for her roles in the I Know What You Did Last Summer horror series. As large teen sex symbol of the 1990's Love managed to garner instant fame and recognition, even though her films where usually sub-par. In 2005 she returned to the small screen where her career got a much needed re-boost with the supernatural series Ghost Whisperer.
Interesting Tidbits:
- Lost the role of Juliet in Romeo & Juliet to Claire Danes because the director felt she wasn't "modern" enough.
- Lost the role of Darlene in Brokedown Palace to Kate Beckinsale because of scheduling conflicts.
- Was offered a role on the WB's Charmed, taking over Shannen Doherty's place, but turned it down.
- Briefly dated actor Wilmer Valderrama. (who hasn't?)
- Was originally set to star in The Wedding Planner.
Acting Rating: 7/10
Jennifer is actually a very good actress; the problem is she hasn't taken on any good film roles to showcase that talent. Usually stuck in the rut that a lot of actors get into where either they are type cast or don't know how to pick good films. For now Jennifer is better suited for the small screen, that's where she's found the most success in her career.

Umm, you are too generous my friend ;) All I can remember her for is I Know What You Did Last Summer and the sequel (yes, I was a teen ahah)
ReplyDelete@Castor - what can I say, she's a guilty pleasure of mine. She's really not a bad actress, she just must have a terrible agent who signs her up for a lot of mediocre roles. My favorite Love film is Heartbreakers, Can't Hardly Wait is pretty good as well. Really her movie career was pretty decent in the beginning and took a real nosedive with The Tuxedo.
ReplyDelete'heartbreakers' is your favorite film by her, and you haven't even review it yet.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous - yea last time I watched it was before I started writing reviews, next time I watch it I'll do a review.
ReplyDeleteok, cool did you like her tv show. or did you think they showed her boobs, to much in season 1&2.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous - I must admit I haven't gotten around to watching that. Too many TV shows, too little time. Eventually I'll check it out...
ReplyDeleteI understand, is her movie "the truth about love" any good i mean it's not slow driven is it.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous - my review to that is linked above in her filmography list, should give you plenty of info on whether or not you'd like it. I don't remember it being slow, if it was I'd mention it in the review. I do remember saying it was one of her better individual performances though, the film itself is average.
