Born Martine Beswick she added the 'e' onto the end of her last name when she moved to Los Angeles in 1967 after a numerologist told her she was blocked money-wise and adding something to her name would undo it. She said it did make a difference, for a while. She started out her career in the James Bond series, playing one of the fighting gypsy in From Russia With Love, and Bond's assistant in Thunderball. From there she was cast in Hammers famed One Million Years B.C. a film shot in the Canary Islands and in freezing temperatures. There she met her soon to be husband the film's leading man John Richardson. Producer Michael Carreras liked her spunk and demeanor that he cast her as the lead for Hammer's next film which used much of One Million Years B.C. props and costumes, Slave Girls. Martine cheerfully refers to Slave Girls as "one of the worst films ever made." In the early 70's she was cast in Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde a film thought of by many as one of Hammer's outstanding films of the early 70's.

She's got sort of a rough beauty to her. She's gorgeous, yet at the same time she looks like she could beat the crap out of you!

Average Hammer Film Rating: 6/10
Slave Girls is referred to as Hammer's worst film, and in general one of the worst films ever, I seriously don't get that, I've seen hundreds of films that are worse, but that's probably still not saying much.
